Supporting the arts!
Apollo is proud to be involved with a large project in centrally located Memphis, TN. The project is a result of Crosstown Arts mission and the grant recipient, Robin Salant, from their latest MEMFEAST event, where attendees voted on an art project to breathe new life into the Crosstown Building.
The temporary installation features vibrant Apollo Gel in several thru-lit windows in the body of the building. The colors chosen were AP7450 Golden Amber, AP8800 Sassy Pink, AP6300 Neon Yellow, and AP4900 Island Blue.
The launch event on September 16 was attended by over a thousand Memphians, including two television stations (Fox13 and WREG). You can follow the project at facebook.com/crosstownlights.
The second and final phase of the project includes a solar-powered light installation in the building’s water tower and is to be lit October 22 at 9:00 pm.

BLMC LD Dinner
A huge thank you to all the lighting designers who took time out of their busy schedules during BLMC to join us and our friends at Live Design Magazine for an enjoyable evening of food, drink, and conversation at The Capital Grille in New York City. The interesting mix of Broadway award-winning designers, architectural LDs, and the recent grads Apollo sponsored made for a great time by all. Check out the photos to see who Apollo President Joel Nichols, Lighting Design Representative Rich Dale, and Product Specialist KC Hooper had the pleasure of spending some quality time with.
